President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday promised to unearth all corrupt cases in Nigeria. According to him, all corrupt cases both past and present would be revisited.

The President said this at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and it was also contained in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

According to the statement, President Buhari lamented that there has been an abuse of trust by some people in both the previous and this administration.

He explained that the probe was responsible for the setting up of a commission to look into such cases of corruption.

All past and present corrupt cases will be fully investigated. All of such cases will be uncovered and firmly dealt with by his government. This is why we put the commission (of investigation) in place. There has been an abuse of trust by people trusted by the previous administration and this administration.”
