The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has announced the dissolution of 22 local government caretaker committees in the state.
The dissolution, according to the governor, is with immediate effect. Governor Wike, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, argued that the decision to dissolve the caretaker committees became necessary sequel to the expiration of their tenure yesterday (Wednesday).
Inko-Tariah said, “The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has dissolved the 22 local Government Caretaker committees in the state.
“The dissolution is with immediate effect. The 22 caretaker committees are to hand over to the various heads of local government administrations.
“The statutory three months tenure for Caretaker committees expires today (Thursday).”
