The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Wednesday, September 16, issued a two-week ultimatum to the federal government to reverse the recent hike in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff or face a nationwide strike.

NLC issued the ultimatum after holding its Central Working Committee meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, September 16.

The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, who read the communique after the meeting revealed that the ultimatum takes immediate effect. According to him, when the ultimatum expires on September 28, NLC would embark on a nationwide protest.

Mr Wabba said, ”The Central Working Committee has resolved to issue a two-week ultimatum to the Federal government to reverse its decision or face industrial action and peaceful assembly.”
