Psalm 30 good news bible

Here is Psalm 30 in the Good News Bible (GNB):

Psalm 30

A Song of Thanksgiving

  1. I will praise you, Lord, because you have lifted me up. Not all the kings of the earth would have done this for me.
  2. When I was in trouble, I called out to the Lord; I called out to him for help.
  3. The Lord is with me; he will rescue me. The Lord is my helper; he will not let me be defeated.
  4. How great is your love, how high your towers! In his love the Lord will surround me all day long.
  5. You have turned my sadness into dancing; you have removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
  6. O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

A Prayer for Healing

  1. You have turned my mourning into joy; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
  2. So I will sing praise to you, O Lord, and not be silent. O Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.

A Prayer for Help

  1. Do not hide your face from me, O Lord; do not turn away from me.
  2. My father and mother abandoned me, but the Lord took me in.
  3. Teach me to live according to your faithful words, for I trust your commands.
  4. That I may obey your statutes; that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.
  5. My lips will speak words of praise, for all the time I have lived.
  6. I will place my hope in your laws, and not forget your words.
  7. O Lord, my salvation, I said, "I am greatly troubled."
  8. But you, Lord, are my help; you are my deliverance.
  9. You are my shield and my honor; you are my Savior.
  10. I will bless the Lord, who gives me counsel; in the night my heart instructs me.
  11. I have followed your statutes; I have kept your laws.
  12. You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you.

A Song of Thanksgiving

  1. Praise be to the Lord, because he has heard my prayer.
  2. The Lord has blessed me because he has not turned away my prayer or removed his faithful love from me.

This psalm is a beautiful expression of gratitude and praise to God for deliverance and healing. The psalmist reflects on God's goodness and faithfulness, and expresses their trust and hope in God's laws and promises.
