The Warri Traditional Council, on Saturday announced Prince Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko as the Olu of Warri designate.

He is the younger sibling to the late Itsekiri monarch, Ogiame Atuwatse II.

This development came even as the traditional council formerly announced the passing on of the late monarch after about two weeks of controversy over the demise of the Itsekiri monarch, saying the Itsekiri king was no more.

Making the announcement of the monarch’s death was the eldest traditional chief and a member of the Olu Traditional Council, the advisory body to the stool which comprises the king-makers, Chief Tesigiweno Yaya Pesu.

The Olu of Warri designate is a sixty-one year old graduate of Business Administration from the University of Benin.
