Nigeria’s two-time Finance Minister and immediate past Coordinator of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been conferred with national honours in two African countries, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire.

In a post monitored on her Facebook page, Okonjo-Iweala says: “I’m grateful to His Excellency, President Alassane Ouattara, and Her Excellency, President Johnson-Sirleaf, for the National Honors of Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia conferred on me for works on development supporting the two countries and Africa.”

It will be recalled that after the expiration of the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Okonjo-Iweala has been offered top international engagements including Board Chair of Gavi, the vaccine alliance founded by billionaires Bill and Melinda Gates. She is also chair of Africa Risk Capacity and a number of others. She was recently also named on the board of Asia’s leading infrastructural bank.
