Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae, has revealed that those that abducted him were actually after his life.
Falae was apparently faulting the statement credited to the Department of State Service (DSS) while parading two of the suspected kidnappers in Abuja, that the suspects were mere criminals who are in need of money for Sallah and wedding.
The elder statesman while playing host to members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) led by Gani Adams in his ObaIle House in Akure, argued that the suspected kidnappers aimed at killing him by shooting at his vehicle when they stormed his farm, thinking he was inside the car.
According to him, “They were not after money alone; they wanted to eliminate me by shooting my car, thinking I was inside the car. They later walked into my office with their sharp knives and cutlasses and matcheted my body before taken me into the bush.
“We trekked from Akure to Owo, following bush paths and swampy areas on my bare legs till we got to an area close to Ifon in Ose local government.”
