Indications are rife that military officers and mobile policemen have taken over Ishawo, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Reports has it that more than 10 Armoured Personnel Carriers, together with hundreds of soldiers, bombarded the area from 4am on Saturday.
It was equally also gathered that the operations of motorcycles riders and tricycle drivers were restricted while many residents were not able to move out of their homes.
It would be recalled that no fewer than seven officials of the Department of State Service were allegedly murdered in September by some suspected pipeline vandals in the area.
The vandals were alleged to have taken away their remains and escaped with their weapons.
Before this time, three policemen attached to the Owutu Police Division and Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, were alleged to have been shot dead by the vandals, carting away their corpseswho took away their corpses.
Addressing a press conference, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, explained that the presence of the security operatives was aimed at putting an end to the menace of the hoodlums terrorising the community.
