Google news data saver mode

Google News has a feature called "Data Saver" that helps reduce the amount of data used when browsing news articles. Here's how to enable it:

Method 1: Enable Data Saver from Google News settings

  1. Open Google News on your device.
  2. Tap the three horizontal lines () on the top left corner to open the menu.
  3. Tap "Settings" (represented by a gear icon).
  4. Scroll down to the "Data Saver" section.
  5. Toggle the switch next to "Data Saver" to the "On" position.

Method 2: Enable Data Saver from your device's settings

  1. Go to your device's settings app.
  2. Look for "Google News" or "Google News & Weather" and tap on it.
  3. Scroll down to the "Data Saver" or "Data usage" section.
  4. Toggle the switch next to "Data Saver" to the "On" position.

When Data Saver is enabled, Google News will:

  1. Load news articles in a lighter format, reducing the amount of data used.
  2. Disable images and other non-essential content to further reduce data usage.
  3. Load news articles in a text-only format, which uses less data.

Note that enabling Data Saver may affect the appearance and functionality of Google News, as some features may not work as intended. If you're concerned about data usage, you can also consider using a data-saving browser or app, or adjusting your device's data usage settings.
