Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday put a challenge across to the new boss of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmud Yakubu to ensure that the conduct of elections across the country remains free, fair and credible.

The President therefore insisted that the INEC boss, alongside other officers cannot afford to let Nigerians down in subsequent elections in the country.

Buhari spoke at the swearing in ceremony of Professor Yakubu and five National Commissioners at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

They National Commissioners are Mrs. Amina Zakari, Mr. Solomon Adedeji Soyebi, Prof. Antonia Taiye Okoosi-Simbine, Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky and Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo.
