Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, says the state under his watch, will not divert the bailout extended to it by President Muhammadu Buhari to assist in the payment of civil servants salary arrears.

The governor also suggested that being a lover of workers, the state government would not deny them their wages as written in the Bible.

Fayose added that the funds would be utilised for the reason it was set aside.

The governor in a statement on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, posited that he had met all the requirements for the bailout but that he had yet to receive the money.

Governor Fayose gave an assurance that the salary arrears would be paid immediately the bailout fund is released to the state.
According to him, “I will not pursue developmental projects at the detriment of the growth of workers’ stomach infrastructure.

“At the last meeting I held with all of you, you asked me to go ahead and get the bailout. I’ve gone ahead, I’ve signed. I am waiting for the money and as soon as the money comes, I will pay. I am not going to be among the governors that will divert the bailout. I want the stomach infrastructure inside you to grow.”
