A fourteen-year-old secondary school girl identified as Fathia Ojewoye has been raped and killed by unknown persons in Ogun State.

The girl was found dead in an uncompleted building on Saturday at Agbeloba-Oriyonrin area of Abeokuta, three days after she was declared missing by her parents.

Newsbreakers gathered that the victim did not return home after her mother sent her to refill their cooking gas cylinder around the area. All attempts to find her were futile until her body was discovered on Saturday.

According to sources, the deceased was spotted with a young man at the time she was going to the gas station. However, the young man had since fled the area. The fleeing suspect(s) reportedly defiled the victim in a brutal way and later murdered her.

Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the police had started an investigation to get to the bottom of the murder. He assured that the perpetrators will pay for their crime.
